Overview

The Degree Course in “Tecniche Sanitarie di Radiologia Medica per Immagini e Radioterapia” is divided into three years of study, with access programmed at a national level governed by a special call for admissions.
The teaching activities are divided into 180 CFUs, according to a semi-annual framework including theoretical educational activities, professional training and individual study.
The theoretical activities concern basic disciplines and are integrated with the practical activities of seminars, workshops and an internship, for a total of 60 CFUs spread over the three years of studies.
Lessons concern: the study of radiological anatomy, physiology, imaging science and techniques, fundamentals of physics, physics of radiation, physics and consumption of computed tomography and magnetic resonance, technical sciences of radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, protectionist teachings, personal services, ethics, professional deontology, and interpersonal skills, with the aim of providing students with both advanced and basic technical and operational skills in the diagnostic and therapeutic fields, as indispensable tools to respond to the labor market demand.
These teachings are complemented by training activities that use the knowledge learned in a practical sense, under the supervision of a director of vocational training activities that acts according to the ministerial regulations and general indications of the Council of Study and is the guarantor of the College / Professional Order.
The Degree Course, through the integration of lectures and practical activities, is carried out in hospitals and health centers in the local area.
The qualification obtained provides the qualification to practice as a Technician of Medical Radiology on the basis of current legislation, forming a professional able to operate according to the indications offered by their professional profile, in: public or private structures, hospital and extra-hospital centres, scientific and shelter institutes (IRCCS) and, upon recognition of the qualification, at Healthcare Facilities of the European Community as a professional with high skills, able to perform a fundamental service to the individual and the community.
Graduates can also practice in industries and research agencies for imaging and radiotherapy and in university research centers, as well as carry out professional freelance activities.
The Graduate of Medical Techniques of Medical Radiology for Imaging and Radiotherapy, moreover, can access, after passing an entrance test, the Master’s Degree in Sciences of the Medical Professions, Diagnostic Techniques or other university training activities, such as master’s degrees and master classes.
Moreover, this Degree Course offers the possibility to carry out internships in Italy or abroad by participating in Erasmus projects.
